I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

My Google CTA Map
I totally thought I mentioned this but I guess I completely forgot. Anyway, back in July of this year I put together a Google Map of the Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA) elevated ("L") tracks. You can check the map out at http://www.tastypopsicle.com/maps/cta.asp. It was a long process to plot out all of the points to accurately trace the tracks and not just to connect the dots of the different stations. On the right side you can select individual stations and you can even show/hide particular lines (just click on the colored line's name at the top of the screen).
After you click on a station, either from the list on the right or from the map itself, an info window pops up above it. You can click the colored line's name from the info window to get the CTA's official schedule for the station and you can even use the select list to find certain business around the track using Google Local.
It was a great way for me to get comfortable with using Google Maps. And I did have some fun making it. Let me know what you think of it and what else would you like to see it do. Maybe I can work on it after the wedding.
eNjoy!
Right now I'm feelin' - good natured

Google's right - you meant "tastypopsicle"
Weeks ago, while hanging out with Cooper and sharing a few drinks, I stumbled upon a very interesting Google result. For you see, when you search for tasty popsicle (without quotes) Google politely asks
Did you mean: tastypopsicle
Which is pleasantly odd because the words "tasty" and "popsicle" are two completely legitimate words. So why, would it seem, that if you were looking for results about a tasty popsicle that Google instantly assumes that what you must have been searching for is actually tastypopsicle? The 835 results for tastypopsicle as one word is a far less number than the over 100,000 search results tasty popsicle as two separate words. But it is what is and I can't complain for you see while the 100,000+ results for tasty popsicle take you all over the internet for who knows what, tastypopsicle is still the first result and each of the results for tastypopsicle has everything to do with me.
