I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Javascript Tuesday
Basically the script appends on demand a filler text through functional links added via javascript. The next one uses a bunch of AJAX (which is Asynchronous Javascript) and it's called TurboDbAdmin made by the TurboAjax Group (which also looks interesting). TurboDbAdmin is:
A single-page solution for exploring and editing databases from a browser. Edit data just like you would in a desktop application, without submit buttons or page refreshes. It's for PHP and MySQL, though, but I know it will come in handy. Finally there's Dojo which is a new WYSIWYG editor for the web browser which truly works across all browsers and platforms (yes, Safari, you too can play the WYSIWYG game now). This looks to be absolutely killer. I am already looking forward to implementing this anywhere I can.
SA NEScover

A wonderful find today via the Something Awful forums [Request guitar songs for me to cover on... NES?!?] but discovered through Joystiq
A Something Awful forum user has put together a package of 16 remakes of popular songs synthesized using an NES’s audio system.
The original SA forum post has some other tracks available but this NEScover CD is such a great mix.
- REM - Losing My Religion
- Europe - Final Countdown
- Radiohead - Karma Police
- Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
- Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
- Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
- Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
- Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
- Slayer - Angel of Death
- David Pomeranz - Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now
- Coldplay - Yellow
- Rick James - Superfreak
- Semisonic - Closing Time
- (Silence)
- Hidden NESmix Intro
- Zero Wing (Opening Theme) (4x4 Remix)
- Tetris (Music A) (Piano Practice Remix) (Hidden Track)
Do eNjoy! Download the package of songs here or here.
UPDATE 11/13/2006: The original links to the entire collection no longer work (surprise, surprise). However, if you would like to listen to the whole collection please let me know and I'll see what arrangements can be made.
UPDATE 11/25/2006: What Waht?! I may have spoken too soon. I have no idea what I did with this album. I fear that I may have DL it at work and I know now that it is not there any more. My hunt begins!
UPDATE 11/25/2006: (10 minutes later) Funk that! I did some "super-sleuting" and the very first results was this. Here you'll find NEScover.rar and NEScover.zip - badass! This file is now safely tucked away in case it disappears from the Internets again. Remember, you can always contact me if you need it.
UPDATE 3/13/2007: We knew it couldn't last forever. It looks like the files have been removed. However, I do know how you can get your grubby hands on it so send me a message if you're interested.
UPDATE 9/29/2009: It's BAAAAACCCKKK! Looks like you can get the RAR file from here. Also looks like it's been there since 2/27/2008 - who knew?

Dr. H. Marc Watzman sentenced to five years
November 23, 2005 (CHICAGO) - A Chicago pediatrician who spent thousands of dollars to collect computer images of child pornography was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison. Dr. H. Marc Watzman, 39, pleaded guilty in June to one count of possession of child pornography and nine counts of receiving it. Federal judge John F. Grady could have sentenced Watzman to a maximum eight years. Watzman's attorney, Thomas Anthony Durkin, said his client suffered from severe depression because of operations related to a congenital heart defect. Durkin said to cope with the depression, Watzman became addicted to child and adult pornography. Watzman was arrested at his home in October 2003. Many of the images he downloaded came from a Web site based in Russia that boasted of offering a large assortment of child pornography, official said. Servers associated with the site were located in Hong Kong, Houston and Karlsruhe, Germany, federal officials said.Thank god.
