I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

Bennie and the Jets - DnB Style
Aggro1 has just released another great mash-up track Elton John "Bennie And The Jets" v. DJ Teebee & Calyx "The Quest". "The Quest" bass line, familiar to any Drum n Bass head, rips through this track like a machete.
After listening to the song I did a search for "The Quest" which led me to some more interesting findings. Breaksblog.biz contains a MASSIVE collection of some breaks and dnb sets. The kind folks there list where each of the tracks are generously hosted which led me to DnbRadio.com - another source for streaming Drum n Bass other than Bass Drive.

Welcome to Chicago, Jennifer
Two days ago I received a comment from a recent Chicago transplant.
Hey. I just discovered your Google/CTA map through the chicago_el Livejournal community. I'm new here, and I'm finding it extremely helpful already. Thank you!Like many other people who live in Chicago Jennifer has found my CTA Google Map to be a useful tool for finding coffee shops, Wifi, thrift stores or anything else around any El station. I wrote back to Jennifer yesterday after visiting her website, http://www.jenniferblaufrau.com/, and she seems like a very nice woman who looking to find some success in Chicago. Jennifer, I wish you lots of success and I look forward to checking out your new business web site just as soon as you launch it.
Truthiness is the Word of the Year
The word best summed up 2006, according to an online survey by dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster and reported by Forbes online on December 8.
John Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Comedy Central have a much greater influence on the young adults of today than arguably any other media source.
"Truthiness" was credited to Comedy Central satirist Stephen Colbert, who defined it as "truth that comes from the gut, not books."This year saw a lot of BS being spewed forth from our politicians who honestly believed what they were saying was true - to them at least. I have no doubt that truthiness will become even more engrained in our vernacular as the years go on.

Back in Syracuse for the weekend
Amy and I arrived in Syracuse, NY late on Thursday night. I tell you what: it's a little odd to be in Upstate New York this time of year with no snow on the ground and temperatures in the high 40's and low 50's. I'm used to 2-3 feet of snow on the ground this close to Christmas.
Tonight is the annual Knittel Christmas party. It'll be great to see the whole extended family for the first time in over 2 years.
Did I mention that it's very odd that the weather in Syracuse seems almost "balmy"? I think the world might be ending.
Super Mario Stamps for the Needy (Me)
While back in Syracuse, NY over the weekend I saw a post come through my Bloglines RSS reader about these wonderful Super Mario mini stamps originally posted on ThinkGeek:
Imagine my amazement when I clicked into the story to see these gems as well:

James Brown is Dead
And I'm not talking about L.A. Style's 1992 Techno hit titled "James Brown is Dead"
He's really dead.
James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose revolutionary rhythms, rough voice and flashing footwork influenced generations of musicians from rock to rap, died early Christmas morning. He was 73.[via Newsvine via the AP] RIP JB. RIP.
