I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

The CTA Google map - another round on LJ
train service on the CTA Blue Line was interrupted for over an hour this morning by a small fire at the O'Hare Airport station, CTA officials said. The fire broke out around 8:25 a.m. in a janitor closet adjacent to the station platform's elevator, Antongiorgi said. The cause is under investigation. From 8:30 a.m. until about 10:15 a.m., the CTA provided shuttle buses from the Rosemont L stop to and from O'Hare while Chicago firefighters secured the scene. The fire was struck at 8:46 a.m., but it took longer to clear thick smoke that obstructed the platform. Trains were back in service by 9:54 a.m., Antongiorgi said. The Rosemont Fire Department transported one person to Resurrection Medical Center for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported, Antongiorgi said.At any rate, in Cory's post he threw in a link to my CTA Google Map and this line:
The best part about this are the drop down menus. You can find coffee shops, thrift stores, free wifi, bars, chinese food, and pizza near any el stop.I realize of course that this doesn't yet explain the higher than expected traffic this morning. To get into that I have to explain how LJ works. Stuff you post can be aggregated by your LJ "friends" into one nice screen feed. This way, you don't have to visit all of your friends' LJ accounts just to see if they posted something new. So, becuase of this one post people are checking out the map again. Which is cool because, well, it's my map.
