I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

So before I go home I thought I'd add some thoughts. It's been almost a week and, yes, a lot has been going on - for the most part. But, unfortunately, something of HUGE magnitutude has forced me to react in an almost stupor-like fashion. This afternoon I received an email from a law firm in New York that believes my web site - tastypopsicle.com (the NAME of it rather) is infringing on their client's trademark rights. Yes, you are hearing me right : I could be SUED for trademark infringement!! tastypopsicle.com could go away....
I certainly don't want to see that happen. I mean, I've put A LOT into this site. It's my life! Apparently Popsicle® is a registered trademark wholly owned by Unilever United States Inc. and tastypopsicle might be *confused* by web users as being associated with their flavored ice. I wish I even had the time to explain what I've done researching this already. I read on one site that p*opsicle is a "generic" trademark and therefore there is no leagl bind to it anymore - like baby oil. However, Venessa and other sites claim it is NOT generic and if I don't comply with them by truning over my URL then I could be sued.

No one wants to see that, right??
Here's a copy of the email I received...
*sigh*
I gotta go home now.
Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves in the message boards.

Another dollar - another day. I didn't realize today was payday! Whoo hoo! The paltry amount of money I make does make me happy when I get it. I've neglected updating my accounts so I've never really known how much money I had available. I've now made the consious effort (starting today) to be more up on them. But work is busy; I still have my taxes to do; I've got a lot to do with my side work and I have not been sleeping well lately.
I haven't heard anything from the "popsicle" people - not that I'm complaining. I'm not too worried about it any more. It'll be what it'll be.
I'm just looking forward to 4.20 for the Triple Crown 2002 show. Fun show, good night with friends and chance to relax. A lot of work should be done by then so it's a great reason to celebrate. Oh, speaking of celbrations : I'm FINALLY making more from my side work - $15 more per hour! Good for me....
Hey, welcome Shannon to tastypopsicle.com from Nebraska! I answer question on the lockergnome newsgroups about tech questions and my tip favicons was in their weekly newsletter. Scroll down to "Gnomies Helping Gnomies" or do a search on the page for tastypopsicle. Shannon saw my comment and decided to stop by. Thanks for joining!

I've been reading the latest Macworld magazine (I have a subscription) and there's an article by Jeffery Zeldman about Creating Sophisticated Style Sheets. The article itself isn't anything I didn't already know, but it did mention a link to Glish.com and I really like what this guy has done with his site. It's all done with CSS and some DHTML for some of the neater tricks. But the point is that there's NO TABLES HERE! Using CSS he's accomplished some cool layout that's pretty easy to do. I do like the layout for tastypopsicle.com and I am in no mood to "redesign" it but it's a great idea for future sites I can think off. These are definitely sites that are more content (text) driven than say flashy, noisey graphics which I guess I'm not really opposed to but I tend to go more towards "clean design" in a typographical sense. Perhaps it's an extension from my days at Carnegie Mellon.
Right now I'm feelin' - tepid

Spring sprung and it SNOWED and was COLD all day today. F' that I say. I felt like crap this morning so I stayed home from work. I managed to get some geek coding done so that's good. AFD should be done very soon we hope...

Mommie, happy birthday to you. You're the best mom in the world. I wish Amy and I could have been there in Cazenovia to wish you happy birthday. But we love you and miss you and w hope you had a great day.
Things that have made me happy this week so far : definitely Domo Kun!!; Amy; glash.com; and some other crap.

Happy weekend come and gone. I highly recommend (if it's in your area) to see "Beauty and the Beast" the IMAX version though. It was very very brilliant and colorful and the sound was amazing! Not to mention they did some animation with it to make you feel like you're more a part of the movie - not just watching it. They have been showing it at Navy Pier for awhile now and it was my intention to take Amy to it for Valentine's Day and have dinner at the pier as well. That didn't happen in February, but we found some time for eachother on Saturday and we made a "date" out of it. We had such a good time

After the movie we had drinks and lite food at "Charlie's Ale House" there at Navy Pier. We joked and laughed and had a fun time...
Sunday was the Academy Awards at her mom's place and we celebrated Amy's older sister's birthday. Pizza, beer, and Oscar! That was a good time too. I was happy to see "Beautiful Mind" fair so well. Good for Mr. Howard and the gang.
Monday - stinky Monday. *sigh* lots o' work to get though.
blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
