A brand new month. Ah yes, "Welcome Spring!" I declare. Although the weather has been up and down the last week today it is looking up again and I believe it will be for the next couple of days. Not that it matters much as I will be spending a lot of time indoors packing. I'm still convinced the move is worth while even with the headache that it may cause initially. A bigger, cheaper place is going to be very nice indeed.
Did you see that the Syracuse Orangemen have made it to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament? After narrowly defeating Auburn on March 28 by one point they went on to face top seated Oklahoma as one of the Elite Eight on March 30. But they had no problem handing the Sooners a 63-47 beating on their way to New Orleans where they will face the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, April 5th @ 8:35pm ET. I will be watching that game after missing the last two. I can only imagine what it's like back up home in Syracuse. Mayhem comes to mind. But NOTHING like what the idiots of Michigan State did to their campus. The 2003 Michigan State riot was the worst since 1999 when they lost to the Duke Blue Devils. Why did they tear apart their campus this time? - because they won a game!!
Huh?!

Ahhhhhhhh ha ha!! This National Guardman has LEGALLY changed his name to Optimus Prime - the 1980's leader of the Autobots Transformers....
He legally changed his name on his 30th birthday and now it's on everything from his driver's licence, to his military ID, to his uniform
Ohhhh it's soooo funny! What next, Saddam Hussein is going to change his name to Megatron? My belly hurts now!

CEO Goes Stupid While the Girls Go Wild
It was only a matter of time before the Lear jet-owning ‘Girls Gone Wild’ CEO busted for taping, propositioning underage girls in a motel.

"According to cops, the "Girls Gone Wild" team brought two of the girls to a motel where they were each paid $100 for undressing, showering together..."
and, um, "other things" - cough, cough. What an idiot. The guy's built an empire while investing very little. Why would you ruin all of that on a couple of underage girls? Getting a little desperate are we now?Check out the The online dictionary of playground slang for some good laughs.

I really didn't think they could pull it off - but they did. Syracuse is the NCAA Men's Basketball championsip team after defeating Kansas last night. It's good to see Jim Boeheim finally get a championship after being with Syracuse for over 25 years. I remember the 1987 tournament - I must have been 10 at the time - when the 'Cuse had a chance to win big in New Orleans with the likes of Derrick Coleman, Rony Seikaly, and Sherman Douglas. What a great team they were back then...
Syracuse is living it up! Congratulations!
I was happy to discover today exactly why I am so brilliant. The Chicago Suntimes reports:

Students aiming to do better on tests may want to do more than just hit the books--they may want to munch on some candy bars, as well.
Eating candy makes you smarter! Sweet delicious chocolate and creamy caramel increases your IQ. AMAZING! - idiots

I like Sam's web site explodingdog.com - he has a very interesting drawing style and his use of color is great. I like the way that he creates depth as well, and hey lets face it, some of the drawings are very funny....
ahhhh, good times
2 days until the move. I am not ready at all yet. I need some monkeys to help me with the packing.
"Just throw stuff into boxes, monkeys. We'll sort it all out later while we eat chili and drink beers."
Ahhhh, you're killing me! MetaFilter has some GREAT stories today. Like...

Absolute hilarity I tell ya!
On a more serious note (but still having some fun), the RAVE Act is back in the news. Why? Because the senate is trying to attach the bill onto the Amber Alert Bill (a child abduction bill).

Late on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, a Senate and House Conference Committee, without a hearing, public notice or a debate in Congress, attached the Illicit Drug Anti-Proliferation Act (formerly known as the RAVE Act) to the Amber Alert Bill (a child abduction bill). This is “backdoor” policy-making at its worst and in no way upholds the democratic principles rooted in our legislative process.

We are all moved in! (more-or-less I suppose) There are still some boxes to unpack and things to put away; we still need to get a dining set at some point. But, overall things look good at the new location. I'm thinking that I might even be able to get to bed at a decent hour for the first time in a week.
This weekend we head up to Michigan (an 8 hour drive, my God!) for Easter and Amy's grandmother's 90th birthday. Congratulations, Pat! We leave Thursday after work so there's laundry to do tonight... bleh.

Work is work. It's quiet now that Glenn isn't here anymore. I kinda just sit in my office and do things. A little from column A, a little from column B.
Oh, did you send in your taxes?? If not then you're already too late. HA HA HA HA!! ahhhh good times. Might I suggest leaving the country - perhaps Cuba or Turkey would be good - before the government finds you seizes everything you own, including your soul.
Oh new toys new toys! Amy got the Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer and it arrived the other day. We set it up lat night and it is sweeeeet! Mmmmmmm technology. Our office is going to be pretty cool. I just need a print server that works over TCP/IP. Any ideas?

Our internet acces is down. though, which makes it difficult to do anything at work. Fun fun fun!

I'm sick and have been for the last couple of days. Apparently the only souvenir I brought home from the trip to Michigan was this cold. If it's SARS I'm gonna beat someone - I promise.
Work is sooooo bad right now. We have no internet access so there is little that I can do there. And I was just on a conference call that was killing me. It was so dry and so slow that I thought I was going to pass out. It was just eating up my cell phone minutes so I hung up. Not to mention they were doing a web based conference call that just wasn't working. Couldn't take it anymore. Now I have work here to do for work. BAHHHH!

After being thrown out of a bar, Paul Russell Jr., 33, bit Renny, a 3-year-old German shepherd, according to a report in Syracuse's Post-Standard newspaper.
Right now I'm feelin' - sick, dude
I think I'm dying
Go away cold... go AWAY! Just when I think I'm done with this "illness" (aka SARS) my nose just starts dripping and running and I'm coughing and blah blah blah...
AND I'm unhappy with the fact that the network was down all week and it looks like it'll be down all this week as well.
At least the weather is nice today.
