I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

April Fool's Day!
Identifying You and the Simpson's
Interesting... and after reading some more about Soundex code it became clear to me how someone can be so interested in deciphering these various codes. As for your Social Security number - unfortunately it's not as "cool" as your state ID. The Social Security Online site breaks the 9 numbers down like this:I'm not really sure why these numbers are designed so. A likely guess is that it allows a skilled bouncer to quickly identify sloppy fake ids.
Boring! And on an unrelated note - check out the website Subtly Simpsons that delves into just a small portion of the subtle allusions, social commentary, wit and vocabulary that you can find in every episode of the Simpson's. Seriously, you KNOW that the episodes are wrought with inside jokes and cultural references but I had no idea how deep they go. Cool stuff. The first three digits are the area number. The area number reflects the State as determined by the ZIP code in the mailing address on your application for the number. The middle two digits are the group number. They have no special geographic or data significance but merely serve to break the number into conveniently sized blocks for orderly issuance. The last four digits are serial numbers. They represent a straight numerical sequence of digits from 0001-9999 within the group.
Man pleads guilty to pirating screener copies
A suburban Chicago man pleaded guilty Monday to one count of copyright infringement for pirating Oscar screener copies of about 200 films including ''Kill Bill: Vol. 1'' and ''Seabiscuit.'' Russell William Sprague, 51, of south suburban Homewood, entered his plea before U.S. District Court Judge George King. He faces up to three years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced July 28. Sprague's arrest marked the first for pirating of special videotapes and DVDs that are supplied in advance to Academy Awards voters, federal agents said. Many of the screeners are of films that are in movie theaters or are still unreleased. Carmine Caridi, a 70-year-old actor who appeared in the ''The Godfather: Part II'' and the ABC series ''NYPD Blue,'' admitted he sent Sprague copies of several movies. He has not been charged. Caridi had been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
What does a deaf rave sound like?
I want to move to London. Read the whole story because this is neat concept. Apparently this is the third or fourth one in the last year So why is the US soooooo far behind music and culture?Thumping bass. Throbbing beats. Music so loud it can be physically felt. Clubbers don't need to use their ears to get a feel for the music - the dance floor experience can be picked up through the rumble of a pumped-up bass line. On Saturday about 900 clubbers turned out for a deaf rave at the Rocket club in north London, the fourth event in the past year run by Troi Lee, who was born profoundly deaf. How do these events differ from a regular club night? Volume, says organiser James Hoggarth. "The volume may be pushed a little further and the bass turned up to 11 so the purpose of the night can be truly be shared with the deaf and hard of hearing crowd." He first got the idea when he put his hands over his ears one night out clubbing, and realised that he could feel the music as strongly as he could hear it. "So I've asked the DJs to pick music with big chunky bass lines and heavy rhythmic tracks. Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, which has a big panther of a bass line, is bound to get an airing; and one of my must-plays is LFO, a techno track from the early 90s famous for shattering club sound systems."
From here to there and back again...
According to Us Weekly, Omarosa begged for a gig as one of the judges at Donald's Miss USA pageant in Los Angeles on Apr. 12--but to no avail. "There was no way we were going to make her a judge," a pageant source told Us. "Mr. Trump is annoyed."Stupid bitch! She is sooooooooo annoying! And her whole evil attitude could ruin her big ideas of - making it big.
