April showers bring May flowers! Yes, May has arrived and it seems like a decent one already. This weekened should be very nice - high temperatures and plenty of sun shine. For what it's worth. I'll probably be indoors doing work all weekend anyway

How do you know when you're "old"? I always find it interesting on the days when I just sorta realize that I'm not really this young person anymore. I look forward to my morning drive to work so I can listen to WGN 720am radio. It's a news and talk station that I listen to on my way to and from work. Yea, some days I still like to turn up the rdaio real loud while I listen to Energy or one of Amy's tapes in the car. But there's something rather pleasant, entertaining, and calming about the folks on WGN. And when I get to work and I see that someone has already started to brew a cup of coffee I get all happy and excited. mmmmmmmmmm coffee!
So today was one of those days that I just felt a little older.
And you do realize that we're already 5 months into the year, right?

First of all I want to welcome the newst member of the tastypopsicle crew : pixie dust k A.KA. "Conference Jen". We hope you eNjoy your stay!

Take a look at the General Discussion message board for a look at the events that unfolded on 2 May 2002. On that same day, though, my birthday present from Amy arrived. Even though my birthday is 28 February, she knew what she wanted to get me. It had more to do with timing and funds. So I finally got a chess clock. Perhaps a little dorky I'm sure you're thinking but I have always wanted one ever since my Bobby Fischer days back in '86. At any rate, it's the Chronos clock - THE best clock out there. And it should be for the price she paid for it... but it's absolutely wonderful and very, very thoughtful of her. Thank you soooooo much!! I really can't thank you enough.
And, Amy was finally able to order her CHRISTMAS gifts from me... terrible, I know. But losing my job right before the holidays last year did not help at all. So she gathered up her list and was able to get some of the things she was hoping to get. I'll let her tell you all about it if she wants to.
A big hello to Cooper, Kristen, Nathan, and Jen who visited with us this weekend. Unfortunately, I had a lot of work to do so I wasn't able to run around to the thrift stores with them but we did find time to laugh and hang out.

The past week was a difficult one. The DSL at the office was out all week so I got to spend most of my time on hold with the fine [sic] folks from SBC Ameritech DSL. I just wanted to kick someone in the head after dealing with them. And since it was down I was barely able to work on any side work at the same time. Which leads to today - Sunday. I have a lot of stuff to work on while Amy spends time with her mother on Mother's Day. Hopefully I can pull in 6 or 7 hours which will really help out.
This weekend was a complete washout. It's still crappy and rainy out. blahhhhhhh.....
Gotta get to work, fool!
Ps. The logout works on the homepage now - sorry about that.

I'm as giddy as a school girl! Even though it's already 1a CT. ugghhhhhhhh BUT I'm installing OS X on my Tangerine iMac - circa 1999. It seems to be going well. Luckily there was nothing on there that I wanted as it requires you to reformat your drive... whooooooo that would have been a pain in the ass if I had to stop and save all the files I wanted. I took care of that months and months ago. Wait and see how it performs.

Thanks to Seth for hooking me up. And I should get Office X installed in the next couple of days as well. We're also working on the basics : Photoshop 7, Illustrator 10, GoLive 6, BBEdit 6.5, Flash and Dreamweaver MX, etc... etc... If you can help out let me know. MAC only please at this time. Hopefully I can turn the ol' iMac into a Hotline server too or something. We'll see.
If this goes well I'll have to clean up the G4 and the iBook to get OS X onto them as well. One thing at a time though
hee hee.....
I haven't had this much fun being a tech dork since high school, man.

F* HOTLINE!!
That's all I gotta say about that lame ass "network". It's all a big power-trip thing. Anyway, MAC users DL Limewire NOW if you're looking for anything. I tried using it a couple years ago when it was first developed and it was really unstable then. But it has definitely expanded into THE place for MAC software, et al. In less than 2 days time I have a complete system now (sans OS 9.2 which I still need to get my hands on to install with OS X). I sorta reached the point where I was like "What else is there to get? I think I have it all."
arrrgggg Ahoy there matey! This here is pirate grounds!
hee hee...
Like Seth said, "It's all research" for his English paper.

Things could be good - quite good actually if I can get this contract to go through. Finishing up the statement of work tonight so we'll see if this means a steady stream of cash flowing in for some time anyway.
All For Doggies is done! That's right, the application that just wouldn't end finally did. Time to resell that baby. That would be nice. gettin' paid was very nice too, though. At least I know my rent can be covered

Went out this past Saturday with Amy to the Magnificant Mile so she could get some bags from the stores for one of the pictures she had to take for a final project. It was kinda nice to window shop without actually shopping. So we went into Tiffany's, BR, Kenneth Cole, Saks, and we almost went into Prada but that would have been ridiculous.
Ps. If you need any work done let me know. Gracias

This being home all day thing is geting old. It's not that I would mind it so much if I actually had some "interesting" things to do. I realize there is probably a lot I could do development wise but I guess maybe I'm looking to do some real work. There are some promising prospects in the works but I wonder if it'll be enough. It looks like these next couple of months could be touch-and-go without the steady income coming in. I'm not giving up right away, though. I need to see if I can make it on my own wiithout having to work for the Man again.
This is a test, I know... and I hope we can pass it.
On a lighter note - these are the last couple of days of school for Amy. After Friday she is done for the semester. We're both really looking forward to it and we hope that this summer can be an enjoyable one.
I'd love to hear from you folks out there...
