Super Mario Bros Tricks
I question how easy it is to actually do these "tricks". In fairness the authors do say that they used a frame advance feature. While the frame advance may be useful for these purposes it hardly seems like a worthy way to play a video game.

Senate kills raise of minimum wage
WASHINGTON -- The Republican-controlled Senate smothered a proposed election-year increase in the minimum wage Wednesday, rejecting Democratic claims that it was past time to boost the $5.15 pay floor that has been in effect for nearly a decade. The 52-46 vote was eight short of the 60 needed for approval. The Senate vote marked the ninth time since 1997 that Democrats have proposed an increase in the minimum wage. This time it would have risen to $7.25. AP[via Chicago Sun-Times] Yet, just nine days ago we read this: House lawmakers give themselves $3,300 raise
WASHINGTON - Despite record low approval ratings, House lawmakers Tuesday embraced a $3,300 pay raise that will increase their salaries to $168,500. The 2 percent cost-of-living raise would be the seventh straight for members of the House and Senate.[via MSNBC] Ain't that some shit. I love how the Sun-Times used the word "smothered" to describe how the Senate blocked raising the minimum wage. Then we get to read from MSNBC that the House-Senate "embraced" a pay raise of their own to cover the cost-of-living.
All your base are belong to Amazon.com
After you've selected a CD to listen to, a DVD to watch, and a book to read you click your way over to Amazon.com's new Gourmet Food section where you can find such tasty things as gourmet cheese, decadent chocolates and assorted exotic meats. How exquisite!? Oh, and look at these Dole bananas!
Huh!? Bananas? WTF? Since when did gourmet food include bananas? Something doesn't smell right, Amazon.com. And what have you to say about the fact that your Dole bananas look A LOT like your Chiquita bananas. So much so that one might think that you have a warehouse full of generic bananas and you just slap on appropriate sticker before shipping them.
I'm watching you, Amazon.com.
Chicago's CTA Pink Line Opens Today
Starting from 54th/Cermak, inbound Pink Line trains will head east, then eventually north, crossing the Eisenhower Expressway and traveling along the Paulina connector to the Green Line elevated tracks. The train will stop at the Ashland and Clinton Stations, then proceed into the Loop traveling clockwise, making stops at all elevated stations on the inner track, according to the CTA.
Pink Line hours are from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m. from the 54th/Cermak station to the Loop, and from 4:25 a.m. to 1:25 a.m. from the Loop to 54th/Cicero.
Of course, my CTA Google Map has been displaying the Pink Line for over a month now so you were prepared.
In honor of the occasion I have added a significant improvement to the map: You can easily get to or bookmark a particular colored line without having to always load up the entire system map. For example: check out the Pink Line.
The CTA Google Map - Q101 and Chicagoist
On Monday, June 26, 2006 Chicagoist briefly mentioned my CTA Google Map in a aggregate post titled Extra, Extra
Of course, this has lead to a slight spike in traffic. So, thanks for visiting and I hope you eNjoy the map.
Pick an El stop off the map, and find bars, restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, and free WiFi nearby.I'm mentioned in the same post as Jenna Jameson's Club Jenna being sold to Playboy. The Map was also mentioned on Q101's website under Electra's section in her area known as "Way to Waste Time at Work".

Nice spike in traffic
Here's how the last week has looked at tastypopsicle.com. Do you notice anything that's a little different?
Thanks Q101 and Chicagoist!

Google Checkout
Use your Google login account to quickly purchase items online. Microsoft tried this and since noone else remembers it you could say it flopped.
