I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

Operation Yellow Elephant
An attack on London
My alarm clock goes off at 5:30am CT every weekday morning to the radio station 720 AM (WGN Radio). In my half asleep/barely awake state I heard the terrible news that the London transportation system (the Underground and triple-decker buses) had been attacked. I faintly recall hearing about "90 casualties" which I, for whatever reason, immediately interpreted as "90 deaths" so I was rather alarmed to say the least. Consequently, I woke up and turned on the television to find out more about the situation. I soon learned that there were 2 reported deaths and many injured people. I also learned what we all know now: 3 carriages and 2 triple-decker buses had explosions occur on them during rush hour traffic - many more have been reported dead and the number of wounded continues to rise. The cause is suspected to be related to a terrorist group. The reasoning has more to do with the G8 summit in Scotland rather than London's win to host the 2012 summer Olympics which was announced yesterday.
With phone lines down in London (both land-line and mobile) the blogshpere is abuzz with developing information. How? Because while the phone lines are down the fiber optics which connect the digital world are not - the internet has not been affected so it remains really the only means of communications with this island nation. Case in point: The Wikipedia page about the London bombing is already being filled out. I know I've mentioned Wikipedia before so I won't get into its merits too much but it's a true testament of the power of independant yet collective jounalism. Of course, CNN and MSNBC and FOX et al. are covering the event on their websites but the nature of Wikipedia is that everyone has access to the information that is presented and they can change/edit/add anything new AS IT HAPPENS. It's like a living, breathing thing. If you were to take a snapshot of it over the course of just an hour you would see many changes and revisions which the major news outlets just can't do. In fact, Wikipedia even includes a screenshot of the website of the group which is laying claim to the coordinated bombings.
Overall, this is absolutely tragic and my thoughts go out to everyone affected.

Damn website
I'm more than a little disappointed to see that my de.licio.us links aren't working at the top of my site and the weather feed isn't coming in at the right. Both problems seem to have just recently appeared and I can't quite figure out why. I mean, I KNOW my de.licio.us feed is available. The feed's right here. Why my script no longer works to pull the feed in I just can't figure out. The weather always seems to be mucked up so I'm not too concerned about that - I never really used it anyway. But I was getting used to my de.licio.us links being right there. I was getting used to being able to quickly and easily tag links that I found interesting throughout the day and then go back and check what I was "window shopping" for earlier. I also liked that I could share them on my website.
I hope I can get it fixed :P

A Hello Kitty Chess Set
I don't speak or understand Japanese but something tells I want this anyway.
You can only order it through the Sanrio website. It costs 36 750 Japanese yen which is about $327.89(US).
