I've decided to open up the weblog archive. At one point is was closed off except to registered members due to an incident, However, that company has since closed its doors so they can just eat it. Use the search to find something that youmight be looking for. Maybe you'll find it.

Hello from the 18th floor
I'm sending this message from the new place ::
A new day at our new place! Last night was a HUGE success. Tim and Cassie's help made it ooohhhh so easy to get the stuff here. We did a couple of trips filling up Amy's car and the mini-van between 8p and 11p. Thanks again guys!
The cable guys just left and the cable modem and tv are hooked up and roaring.
That's fabulous!
Just heavy boxes and the furniture remain to be moved in around 5p tonight.
-almost there

Amy and I are all moved in - sorta. I mean, the move went great and I HIGHLY recommend the moving company that we used - Checkmate Movers (773.262.0983). For 3 guys it's $89/hour and they were done in 2 hours. And that includes going from my place, to Amy's place, then back south to our new place. Granted, we did get a lot done the night before but that was so we wouldn't have to spend a lot on movers. It worked out really well. We have a lot of stuff unpacked and set-up so it's only a matter of going through some more boxes in the next week or so and finally settling in as well as making a trip back to Amy's old place for last minute items.
But as far as I'm concerned we're done!
And it's back to the grind. BTW :: did you see the HUGE storm we had this morning? Lots of flooded basements I've heard.

So, there was this HUGE storm yesterday morning that brought most of the city and the suburbs to a grinding (soaking wet) halt and today there was a train collision between a Brown and Purple line train near the Chicago stop.
Never a dull moment in this city. A lot of people got washed out and bruised up these last couple of days. I'd hate to be someone that got affected by both.
Oh my, it's Friday!

The place is just about done. Amy and I got a lot done when we got home tonight. You can actually move around the place now without running into boxes. Now we just have to get rid of all the empty boxes.
It's so late now though... time for bed I think. I have to eat something first. I didn't have dinner last night.

As you can see it's now after 3am! ugghhhhhh...
More was accomplished today but not until after 5pm. Target was the place and shopping was the game. We got a lot of nice stuff for the place and a lot of stuff we needed (like a vaccuum). I swear, just a few more days and we'll be done.
Time for bed though. We have a White Sox game to go to that starts at 1p. Must get some rest.
Special note :: I TOTALLY saw some Russian couple (they were older too mind you) STEALING a $6 bag of vaccuum cleaner bags at Target. It was weird watching them do it. They were buying a $90 vaccuum (the same one we bought) and stuffing the bags into the box and resealing it. So I snitched. I don't know what happend to them, if anything, but I just felt weird about it. They were like 45. Aren't you supposed to not do that anymore after you're 15?

One last thing before I turn in for the night(?) ::
Here's my name over Sunset Blvd in LA. Some sky writer was writing "EDEN: 2 ≠ 1". What in the HELL does that mean? Anyway, my friend, Alicia, caught a shot of it right after he finished ED. I thought it was cute. How often do you see your named spelled out in the sky?

Wow, 3 posts in one day. I guess the last two don't count cause they were done so early(?) in the day. Sox lost 6-4 to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. It was fun though. Sooooo tired from sitting in the sun for 3 hours.
Must leave now.

I realized that at one point I had this link up on my site and then I must have removed it for whatever reason. Anyway, here's where Amy and I moved into. It's called the Pensacola Place and it's not too shabby. We got a one-bedroom if you want to check out the layout of the place. Maybe we'll get pictures of our own up soon so you can really see what our place looks like.

Amy's sooooo cute when she's sleeping...
I love her.

I spent some time today working on my chat application. It's still not at all where I want it to be but I did add a useful feature, even if it is a little quirky. Here's the jist ::
Before when you had the chat window minimized or behind another window you never had anyway of knowing if someone just said somethinig in the room. Well, I've made it so that when you send a line of text it stores the length of the total chat text as an integer in a Cookie on your computer and compares that to the actual length of the chat text. If the lengths are equal then nothing happens and you can go about working on other stuff (like a paper or surfing the net for instance). The integer on your computer stored in the Cookie is compared to the chat text every 3 seconds. When someone writes back in response the lengths are compared again and this time your computer notices that the length of the chat text in the Cookie is NOT the same as the actual chat text length. Are you following? Anyway, when it notices this it has the chat window flash in the task bar tray (PC USRES) or come the front of the screen on both MAC and PC if you're surfing the net.
It's quirky some times but at least now I can sit in the chat room and know when someone says hi. So stop in and say hello some time.

Good morning (afternoon?)...
Today will be another busy day. We have more guests coming over in about an hour. Our friends Kristen, Cooper, and Jen are coming to see the place and perchance go swimming. Ohhh la la!
Walmart will have to wait for another day.

This prototype is killing me...
CrAzY day today. I was running around trying to get the pieces to fall into place. No luck. I did accomplish a lot otherwise but I had no idea where the time went today. Before I knew it it was 6p and time to go.
Happy anniversary, baby. I love you.

All day at work and I get nothing. And the MAC functionality isn't looking too promising either.
*sigh*
what a night - it really didn't go as planned.

Never even had a chance all weekend to write about the wedding or anything else in Syracuse unfortunately. Friday was a busy day running around to get the tux and make sure that everything fit where it needed to - and it fit just great. Each of the groom's men had a different colored vest to match as closely as possible to the bride's maids dresses. I became affectionally known as Professor Plum by Col. Mustard. Then it was off to get a gift for the couple. It was a tough decision on what to get them but with the new house that they signed for on the same day I thought that the 13 piece Tfal cookware set made the most sense. Mom picked up the Krups coffee maker - practical and useful in all ways. That evening at 5p I had to be at the church for the practice run. Then at 7p it was the rehearsal dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Time to get my drink on - and Heidi, Chris's older sister agreed. It was fun needless to say. A good time was had by all. Afterwards I went home and proceeded to start the expected best-man speech. By 4a I had it printed out and I went right to sleep. WAY too tired.
Saturday I got up and started with the first cup of coffee at 9.30a. Chris was coming to get me at 11a for his last meal as a single man. By 11a I think I had made a second pot of coffee. I was ready to go! And go we did - right to BK. I had some more coffee. Chris had the usual - a hamburger with extra ketchup and extra mustrad. Some things never change.
We had to be at the church by 1.15p. So we changed at his parent's place and then headed over to the church. At 2.05p we were standing at the alter watching Carrie come down the aisle. It was a short wedding that was very pretty. And everyone held up well for the most part except for me. I tend to get very emotional at things like this. Yes, I did cry.
The reception started at 4p and went to 10p. I got my drink on and my groove on. And afterwards I went out with some friends and got some more of my drink on. Saturday ended rough and Sunday was even rougher. Not to mention I have a cold or something. I just want to sleep and get it over with.
I guess that's the short of it. Of course a lot happened in between and I'm sure some of the stories will make their way here at some point. But I thought I'd at least mention that I made it back to Chicago in one piece this morning and now I'm at work just waiting to go home. That time won't come soon enough, though. It was fun but I'm glad to be home with my sweetie. She surprised me this morning by showing up at the office with a red rose and a Winnie the Pooh chat pal.
oooohhhhhhhhh I love you, baby! It was the best thing that anyone could do.

I'm just about off the Musica project. I'm staffed about 20% now which isn't bad at all. It's mostly just to stay in the loop and understnad what's going on and the direction that things are going. The rest of my time will be spent working on a site redo. The current site is just static content using frames no-less. The goal is to make it database driven using SQL Server and ASP. So you can understand where I might fit in. Front-end web development is back!
Amy and I are doing very well for those interested. Hi baby!
Not much else is new, though. Grocery shopping and laundry are on the agenda tonight - and of course Law & Order.

At least it's Friday.
A lot to figure out this weekend. Amy and I might see a show tomorrow but I guess that's still up in the air at this point. And we also have to start planning for next weekend. "Even Further" is going to be somewhere in Wisconsin and it's an all weekend, outdoor party. A lot to figure out there.
I don't want to go to work, though. Too much to do today.
*sigh*

I'm messing with the database so don't mind me.
I realized that my web log was only showing the last 3 records in the database. I thought maybe you'd rather see the last 3 days worth of entries, in case that was important to you.
I'm so not interested in this web project now.
oh joy.

Bad Boy Bill and Paul Johnson
Off to the Metro to see Bad Boy Bill and Paul Johnson. It'll be nice to go to show instead of a party, I think. And Tim and Cassie will be there too.
We might even see Molly.

Right now I'm feelin' - ready to go!

The weekend was a good one for the most part. The show at the Metro was fun - but it was way too crowded and way too hot. We decided to leave at 3.10a or so. We were hungry and sweaty just from standing around. And I had tried to dance but I slipped in a puddle on the floor and twisted my knee a little making it too uncomfortable to dance anyway. Tim and Cassie stayed over and they left later that Sunday. We had a lot of fun with them and we always look forward to their company.

BUT the worst part of the weekend came at about 11p Sunday night. All of a sudden we had NO WATER! It wasn't like it was only hot or only cold. It was just NONE! Apparently, it effected the whole building and everyone was without water. It wasn't on this morning when we got up - in fact, it didn't get restored until 11.30a. Amy and got ready and then we made it in to work.
blahhhhhh
