Happy August! huh?! what!?! August already, but where has the time gone? I don't understand. The time is flying by I say old chap. Any hoot - did some movie watching the last couple of days. Had to use up our passes by the end of July and Stephanie was in the city staying at her mom's and we've been waiting to see a movie with Homer and his lady-friend - Foxy Cleopatra : SCHAZAM!
Oh wait, that was Austin Powers 3 : Goldmember which we caught Tuesday night with Stephanie. We originally wanted to see the 9.45p but that must have been sold out well before we got there at 9.10p... grrrr So we stuck around for the next show which was at 10.45p which wasn't that bad. In general, we found it to be very humorous and eNjoyable overall. Definitely recommend that you see it.
last night we saw Minority Report with Homer and Sue. Sue was a trooper since she'd already seen it - and I say trooper because the movie wasn't that great. It was ok, but 2.5 hours is kinda long. Some of the concepts were interesting but the story lacked in many ways. Great to see you though, Homer! next weekend is gonna be sweet!

Well, hello Tim...
Thanks for the TWO messages about TASTYradio. I think I have the stations working OK now. One of the things that I have noticed about Quicktime Streaming Server (QTSS) is that it will crap out on mp3s that aren't encoded properly/differently. For instance, I think TASTYradio was down because of the RainbowBrite remix (available through electric ice). It's a Bit rate of 64kbps MONO recording at a sample rate of 44.1khz. For all I know, it may also have to do with the various MP3 ID3 tags that are out there. I've got some v1.0, v1.1, v2.3 - it's all over the place. Now, any of the actual MP3s that I made through iTunes are recorded at a bit rate of 160kbps and a sample rate of 44.1khz, joint stereo, with ID3 tags v2.2... hey, I'm just learning this stuff too

Like I said, I *think* I have it solved now. However, if you get a problem let me know what station and song it is.

remember.me? I got tired of having to log into my own site EVERY time I got on the PC in the morning. "F! that," I said - no not really, more like "Grrrr, I want to be automatically logged in when I visit tastypopsicle.com." So, there's a remember.me option when you log in. Now when you close your browser (assuming you haven't logged out by clicking the Logout button on the home page) and you launch the browser at a different time to visit your "favorite" web site you'll still be logged in. Eh - I'm lazy.
Mike, thanks for the message on Saturday about TASTYradio. Anyone having trouble with TASTYtrance or TASTYjungle? I've had TASTYradio running non stop since Saturday without any problems. I NEED MORE MUSIC THOUGH!! If you have ANY mp3s that are of good quality (128 - 160 kbps) then send them my way please. I'd love to have TASTYradio (at least) have about 72 hours worth of music so you don't hear the same things over and over again

Need to get the Hip-Hop station going as well. So much (cool stuff) to do - so little time.
You digging the CHI-town weather today?! NICE!!! BEAUTIFUL day out there. Get out folks, and eNjoy it!

I keeps getting better and better... I've been pretty excited about some of the work I've been doing with tastypopsicle.com whilst I take some breaks between worky-work ($$). Two new albums from our collection have been added to TASTYradio and TASTYtrance. Keep your ears open for tracks from Tranceformer CD01 and Tranceformer CD02 originally distributed as a 2CD set from Virgin Records in 1999. I've looked online and I don't believe you can even get these CDs anymore - not online anyway. Some really good stuff - I hope you like it.
The message board lists have been "cleaned up". They're a little bit more legible now when you look at the main page. Sorry it took so long. And last night I made the General Discussion as well as the Legal Woes open to the public.
Starting next week I'll be working at the Pensacola pool on Mondays and Thursdays from 9-3pm. The money (as piddly as it is) will get applied to our rent which is better than nothing. I get to work on my tan and swim as well as do work on the side - not too shabby I do declare. If you're in the area come over and go swimming while I'm there - keep me company or something. Oh and bring me a sandwich.

Took a trip up to Milwaukee, WI over the weekend to visit our friend, Mac. We had a fun time out with her and her friends Saturday night and then we went around town for a bit before we left Sunday. And then on Monday I worked down at the pool and I got a little burnt. A lot of sun was out yesterday yet it wasn't too terrible outside. I think it seemed better out there then it can inside our place sometimes.
Last night Amy and I went to a Cubs game that we already had tickets for. It was a fun game even though the Cubbies lost to the Astros 9-6. Sossa hit a 2-run homerun in the 6th which was cool to watch.
I'll be down at the pool again tomorrow and Thursday as well if you're interested in keeping cool - water's real nice.
Birthdays that are fast approaching : Cooper, Jen, and the big 21 for Kristen.

It's days like today that you can really appreciate the view that we have from our apartment. Lake Michigan is just filled with all sorts of boats. So many people are out around the lake to see the Air and Water Show going on downtown. It's too bad Amy and I don't have any pictures from outside our place yet - but we will at some point.
Amy's at a baby shower today for her good friend, Becky, down on the south side. So I'm at home doing some work and having some more time to myself I suppose. It does look beautiful out there though. And the temperature isn't even 80°.
It's pretty cool, I just saw 4 planes fly in front of our window in formation. They've been practicing a lot over the last few days. Last Thursday when I was at the pool they were flying overhead all day long.

It's pretty cool when people from all over visit tastypopsicle. Like Kathleen from Cape Cod, MA - aka wolfnsnow. So welcome, Kathleen. I hope my ramblings don't bore you too much...

It's all rainy her in Chicago this morning. And we had a doosey of a thunderstorm last night. It was cute though cause Amy was like more than half a sleep and when the thunder clapped she jumped up in bed. It was kinda scary being that it was so late and there was a lot of lightning as well.
Oh, and it appears as if HumanContext has sent me the last of the money that is owed to me - $340. I got a call from Todd yesterday saying that he had just gotten back from a 2 week vacation with his kids and that had forgotten to send me the check like he had promised. Well, I hope you had fun on your vacation while I wondered what was going on.

All of a sudden it's like the message boards are a bad place to go. Everyone's all quiet. In the hopes of just getting more discussion going I've also opened the music message board up to the general public. I'm also thinking about taking down the Sandra Collins CD - Lost In Time - and replacing it with a different CD. Not sure which one though.
Tonight's the White Sox game @ Comiskey with Amy's family and some of their friends and neighbors. Sounds as if there are a lot of us going. Should be a fun time. I mean, blahhh to the Sox (we're more Cubs fans this side of the city) but I've been eNjoying going to baseball games more and more over the years. I couldn't stand baseball when I was in my teens. Maybe it's the beer and nachos talking...
Gotta get going - I've been driving Amy to work just about every day this week. It's just been icky outside and the trip downtown takes about 15 minutes. So the 30-40 minutes that I'm gone isn't that bad.

Have you seen the commercial for these NIGHT & DAY contacts from Focus®? Apparently they are "the first lenses approved by the FDA for extended wear for up to 30 nights continuous wear." That means - you don't take them out at all for 30 days! You were 'em all night and day : 24/7. That seems pretty cool to me. They're touting it as a better alternative to Lasik eye surgery. hmmmm... that'd be nice

It's Tuesday and my thighs look like lobster thighs - grrrr too much sun yesterday at the pool. Speaking of the pool - I've started to re-read Aldus Huxley's "Brave New World". This is probably the 3rd or 4th time reading it. The first time was in 8th grade and then I know I read it at least one more time in high school. Anyway, it's gotta be my favorite book and there was some movie on TV on Sunday "based" on the book. Yea, right. We watched 15 minutes of it and I had to turn it off - it was already terrible by that point. Not even close to the book.

ugghhhhh I don't know if I'm sick or what's going on but I haven't felt well all day - and I feel sooooo tired. My phone rings constantly (I know I'm going to have to get a better plan soon or something - I may even change my provider), I've got a lot to figure out in the next couple of days, and I want to feel better for the weekend.

Big hellos to Mr. Hat who FINALLY wrote and said hello today. For sure next week we'll get together.
I need my tummy rubbed, I need something for my throat, I need to wake up, and I need an intern from DePaul or something - you know, answer the phone, do the dishes, make the bed - that sort of thing. I need to learn PHP and XML.
When's Amy getting home? *sigh*
