Even Further
This could be long or short... depending on how much I want to write tonight. I haven't written in a few (or maybe a little more than a few) days. Some of it has to do with it being the holiday weekend but most of it has to do with pure laziness. Sorry for anyone who might care. At any rate, the big thing of course was this past weekend which began Thursday night really. Amy and I headed out for a long weekend Friday night but we started packing Thursday night for it. That's why I didn't write Thursday night - and work, well, work has been CrAzY busy all week with this site redo. A lot of meetings and a lot of phone calls with 3rd party clients.
Any hoot - the big thing, like I said, was this Labor Day weekend. We went to Bluff Siding, Wisconsin. If you're asking yourself, "Where the hell is that?" then you're not alone. I'll just tell you that it's between 5 and 6 hours away from Chicago traveling about 67 mph. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere. HINT : look near La Crosse. So, we started packing Thursday night and we had to go to Kmart to get sleeping bags and other slupplies since, afterall, this was a weekend camping event. We left Friday night after work, actually after 8pm even though we got out of work at 4.30p. We didn't make it to Even Further until 3a Saturday morning. There were already alot of people there with more coming and the music was pumping from the Main Tent as well as camps all over. We parked the car and met up with our friends and then carried our stuff from one end of the field to the other. It was no easy task. All the stuff was heavy, the walk the long, and it was completely dark out there. But we made it to our camp which was right behind the Main Tent. We unpacked the bags and the sleeping bags and I made Amy and me a few cocktails before we went to bed. Everyone was up, though, and we were up so we went on til 5.30a or so. We got to see the sun start to rise before we crashed. No more than 3 hours later I was the first one up from our camp. Cooper got up a short time later and he and he and I put together the last tent that I think G.I. Joe used in 1941. It took a little while to figure out how to do it and we seemed to have over a dozen "extra pieces." But it stayed up all weekend.
We didn't do anything that Saturday during the day. We just sat around and walked around to other camps to meet other people and to hear some of the Do It Yourself camps. I pretty much just sat in my chair at camp wearing just a pair of shorts. I am guite burnt now because of it. Oh, and so is Amy. We've been using lots and lots of that green aloe. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home precisely for that aloe.
The weekend was great (for me anyway - I know Amy had a good time, but when you get sick I know it can't be that great). I'll have to write more later or something. I promise I will. There is SO much to talk about and so much to mention about the people I met and the people I spent all Saturday night with.
Time for bed, though. Amy and I are sleepy...
Maybe I got some new people reading this and maybe I don't. It remains to be seen! Take care, folks.

So the last post about Even Further was kinda long I guess. But so much more happend this past wekend, too. I left off with Saturday evening which was just CrAzY. There were people everywhere and as the sun got lower and lower it got colder and COLDER. But the music got going in the main tent at midnight and people had been getting ready to hear someone or something at 9p. Music was from all over, though. From people's camps, tents, cars - everywhere, so it wasn't hard to get going right away.
Any hoot, the night turned into Sunday morning and then the morning turned to afternoon with the sun getting hotter and HOTTER - again. I was still up and Amy had fallen asleep a long time ago cause she wasn't feeling well. But I was out and about meeting and talking to people from all over and gettin' my groove on in the main tent. It really did turn out to be a fun evening. Whether or not we'll be at next year's Further remains to seen. I'm gettin' too old for rolling around in some dirty corn field. I need a shower every day!
But like I said, it was fun. And I just wanna say hi to ::

I have to make room for these in my weblog since I've been neglecting it. I hope you've enjoyed the South Park episodes. You can still watch them (again and again) but now you have to do it from here:
Proper Use of a Condom
Mr. Towelie
That's better - now I can use my little message thing again. Not like anyone cares I suppose.
And I know I said I would try to get some new songs up in electric ice but I slacked and so there hasn't been anything new there in awhile. BUT I have added 2 more songs for your enjoyment. What's better is that I still have the same (old) stuff up there so you can keep enjoying it. You can thank me later...
Check out these songs ::
- 'Music Sounds Better With You' by Stardust remixed with Daft Punk (HOUSE)
- 'Sweet Surrender' by Sarah McLachlan remixed by Uberzone (BREAKBEAT)
eNjoy!

It's Friday!!! Yea! This week flew by with the long hours at work adn also the fact that it was only a 4 day work week. The office has cleared out a lot already and I'll be leaving here soon enough.
Tonight will be relaxing at home doing nothing. Tomorrow Amy and I will be running around the southside taking care of some things. And I think we have plans for Saturday night.
Rock, rock on!

A lot happened today. We met up with Amy's best friend since 2nd grade, Becky, and her fiance, Mike, and Becky's step-sister after Amy's dentist appointment this morning. We went to the IHOP with them for brunch. Then Amy and I went shopping at the Target down there on the southside. Target is always a blast and a lot of work... we were tired afterwards.
But now it's done and we're home. I guess our good friend Molly is going to be here soon. I think she's bringing some friends. Should be fun!!
Hugs and kisses to everyone.

It's way too tragic to even say.
This day will go down in history. Remember where you were and what you were doing this morning. America, and the world, will never ever be the same. NEVER.
God bless us all and everyone involved.
11 September 2001 - about 8.45a EDT
-The World Trade Centers have collapsed due to terrorists flying planes into them
-The Pentagon has been hit by a plane
-A United Airlines plane crashed just south of Pittsburgh

I heard this on the television today...
Today's date is more symbolic than anything. Today of course being September 11th - or put otherwise, 911. A day of emergency. A day that seems so deliberatlely planned. The terrorists chose this day very deliberately. 911 is known as a distress symbol; a cry for help.
America has sent out its own 911 call today. And the world is responding. I really wonder if this will lead to some sort of war or attack on America's part. I still haven't decided yet how I feel about this decision that the President will have to make. I don't think anyone really wants to go to war. But we may have to.
How do you feel? I'll post comments as I get them.

Who remembers using an Apple IIe back in the day?! I remember specificly using Logo (you know, the turtle in later versions?) It was actually a triangle that you wrote commands for, like ::
RT 90
FD 120
SETPC 6
RT 45
I thought it was sooo cool back then. Well, I found some emulators for the old Apple IIe. Here's a good ftp site for a lot of information or this Web site can tell you more. If you want to know how to use it or the Logo program let me know and I'll help you.

It's good to know that there is a Web site out there by Mr. Roy Williams that isletting the good people of the world know what The Most Useless Pi Algorithm is. I've been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure out what the most useless one is. Thanks for helping me, Roy. Roy "The Tool" Williams was also kind enough to list Pi to 5000 digits.
I know you're thinking that I must be the tool for even mentioning this but hear me out, cracka'! In order to get a FREE donut from Dunkin' Donuts I need to know what's the shortest game the Chicago White Sox have played. As in shortest time. Damn internet isn't any help! While trying to find an answer to this question I was directed to Roy's sick, little world.
Email me if you know. I'll split it with you.
Amy and I saw the Blue Man group last night. It was A LOT of fun. Very enjoyable; very entertaining. I totally recommend it to anyone. It is expensive by many standards ($53 each) but we had a great time together and that's all that matters.

So have you heard the latest? Apparently, there are some Floridians trying to take advantage of regular Americans. Similar to those "jerks" raising gas prices 500%. So, these assholes in Florida have raised the prices of American flags thinking they can make a fast buck off of 9 year old kids who just want to be patriotic, or the little old lady down the street who wants to hang a flag off of her porch. You want to talk about sick and sad and disgusting? This is worse than the terrorists becuase this is AMERICANS taking advantage and purposely trying to hurt other AMERICANS.
If you are one of these people or if you know someone like this - tell them how you feel right to their face in front of everyone. Tell them that their desire to make money may seem like a smart idea now but wait. Wait until the dust settles and we look back on this and say, "Wait a minute, you ripped me off!" Tell them that this lack of patriotism will get them nowhere. No one's going to want to even consider purchasing anything from them.
So, buy your flag for $10 if you have too. America is asking for your patriotism. Just don't buy anything else. And boycott these associations that are trying to hurt Americans.
I hope they suffer.

Way too many days have passed - whoo!
We did some shopping this past weekend and now have a MUCH better kitchen knife set. This is a 7 piece set (with room for more in the base) from OXO, the Good Grips makers. I'm a whore to their kitchen products because I think they're good and they're very comfortable to use. You should be one too.
We also got a purple, velvet sofa cover for our couch. It's a lite colored couch that I got from IKEA 2 years ago so it was looking a little worn. Not too bad but bothersome nonetheless. So it ended up being a good trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond. We got a few more things but whatever.
Amy is soooo wonderful. She got me Tori Amos' new CD "Strange Little Girls" today! Yea since it just came out on Tuesday.

She also picked up a new DVD for us, "Requiem for a Dream." You gotta see this messed up film. We saw it when it was in the theatres in the spring. CrAzY film - but good. Oh, and don't get Blockbuster's edited version. You'll miss way too much.
Big shout out to the Yellow Smiley Faces. You're the best!
Anyway, it's late and I gotta get to bed. More soon I promise.
One last thing :: DaVinci just let 4 more people go today. Two on Thursday of last week. Time to start looking elsewhere? I dunno.

Time to go home finally...
What a long week. I'm glad it's Friday more just because it means it's the weekend not so much cause it's Friday. I have no big plans except to sleep I imagine.
Gotta go - have a good one folks and try not to be too paranoid about "possible acts of terrorism." You can't prevent it so don't let it stop you from enjoying yourself and life. Don't secure yourself in your home like a freak.
I'm getting tired of this already.

Blah Monday!
It's like 50 degrees outside today! Too damn cold and windy. Brrrrrr. Work's work and yaddah yaddah yaddah. Nothing real good or bad to report.
This weekend was very good and very successful. We finally got a computer desk and chair! Whoo hoo! It's a pretty sweet setup. We went to Target on Sunday and there is an Office Max next door to it so we stopped in to check out what they had - and it was good! So we got them home and I set it up last night. I even got the cable modem hooked up across the room with the hub so now all of our machines can be online. Just gotta get some tacks to keep the wiring against the wall. All in good time I imagine.
Tonight Tim and Cassie should be coming over. We always have fun when they're over...
:)
Oh! and we got a TurboCooker. We haven't used it yet so I don't have much to say yet. But I'll let you know as soon as I do.
Right now I'm feelin' - happy

These past few days have been long and tiring - I don't know what it is. And I felt sick to my stomach all day yesterday which made coming to work very uncomfortable. Maybe it's becuase our water has been contaminated with the ebola virus from Kazookistan?! Blah! who would believe such a thing? Too many paranoid people out there. It was funny cause I was watching the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central last night and he had this guest on who was like a general or something. Anyway, he had said that people have been asking him what they can do to be safer now that we're in this terrible time. And his response was "Don't smoke or drink." You have a better chance of dying from any of those 2 then you do of getting killed in an attack.
So I can just imagine all these redneck freaks sitting around chain smoking and drinking a "tall-boy" of Budweiser at 10.15a while wearing an American flag bandana and missing 7 teeth. Talking about how it "ain't safe no more" and this and that and "I think I just messed my drawers, Bubba."
And apparently it's near impossible to get an American flag anywhere - bigger ones anyway. At least I know I can go to my grocery store and get a shirt that says "United we stand." Sweet...
I don't know about you but I'm not fighting for anyone. I'll be united here buying American made products (like my computer desk) and watching American TV (like Law & Order and Friends).
God bless America.
